Doordarshan, All India Radio Broadcasting ‘virtual classes to help students learn during lockdown, get full channel list here

Virtual lessons and other educational content are broadcast nationwide by Doordarshan and All India Radio for students on their regional channels on TV, radio and YouTube. Virtual lessons are organized to help students learn during the lockdown period.

With the help of virtual classrooms, students across the country, especially those in grades 10 and 12 preparing for the board exam and other competitions, will be able to continue their learning process despite the schools being closed. .

According to an official statement released, virtual learning with Doordarshan and All India radio includes curriculum-based courses for primary, middle and high school students.

The statement also mentioned that high school leaving certificate subjects and sample quizzes for grade 10 students are also available on some of the state channels of Doordarshan and All India Radio. The statement also mentioned that many classes are helping students prepare for their engineering and medical entrance exams, which have also been postponed by the respective governing bodies due to the COVID-19 shutdown in the country.

In order to ensure that the learning is engaging, virtual classes in a few of the states also include quizzes and storytelling by prominent figures outside of the regular curriculum. Classes are broadcast early in the morning while some of them are repeated in the afternoon.

The Doordarshan Kendras that already broadcast virtual classes include Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Jammu, and Kashmir.

The broadcasting stations of the courses by All India Radio are in Aurangabad, Bengaluru, Bikaner, Coimbatore, Gangtok, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jalgaon, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Madurai, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji, Parbhani, Pune, Puducherry, Ratnagiri, Sangli, Tiruchirapalli, Tirunelveli, Trivandrum, Udaipur and Vijayawada.

Stations that broadcast educational content for students include Bhopal, Chennai, Kozhikode, and Thrissur.

Doordarshan broadcasts two and a half hours of educational content daily while All India Radio broadcasts 30 minutes of educational content. Based on this, the total number of hours of daily content on the Doordarshan network is 17 hours and All India Radio is 11 hours of educational content for students across the country.
